Appliance Service Technician

Appliance Service Technicians repair and maintain consumer-related appliance products including audio, video and telephone answering equipment, plus major and small household and kitchen appliances. They can also service electrical or gas-operated appliances.

Appliance Service Technician is a nationally designated trade under the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program.

Mechanical inclination, attention to detail, good communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

 

The following education is recommended: Grade 10 or equivalent (Grade 12 preferred), including English 10, Math 10, Physics 10.

 

Apprentices are required to accumulate 7,200 hours of work-based training in order to receive their Certification, however they do not necessarily require in-school training. Refer to SkilledTradesBC for full details.
